After our “Back to School Giveaway”, we gained knowledge of other current donation needs in upper peninsula schools! Uptown will be partnering with DeepWater Church in gathering donations for PPE items, specifically- kids size (elementary age) disposable masks, hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes and spray, paper towels and Kleenex. All donations must be new, and in their original packaging. You can drop off your physical donations in the covered bin outside of 106A Charlesfort Aly this Wednesday (August 26) through next Wednesday (September 2), or you can bring the items to church on Sunday. If you would prefer to donate financially, please click the link below. We look forward to serving our local schools together!

The "Back to School" season looks much different this year. The legitimate concerns and uncertainties surrounding the pandemic and its potential affects on the classroom have been felt by parents, teachers and students alike. With the spike in COVID-19 cases, the prospect of a normal school year is fading fast. That's why we would like to step in and take away at least a small amount of stress from families who are struggling to buy new school supplies this year. Whether their children will be attending school virtually or in person, our hope is that these new supplies will bring some much needed excitement and joy to the students regarding the start of the new school year. We will be collecting donations that are mostly focused on elementary/middle school students' needs over the next week and then distributing them (in accordance with social distancing protocols) in the Hampton Park Bandstand on Wednesday, August 12th from 5-7pm.
